Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15 1960) is an American actress. Angela Evelyn is an American actor. Bassett was born to her aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Born and grew up at home in New York New York. Her mother split with her father at approximately five. Her younger sister later moved from the city of St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was at the age of high school when she watched James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck play Of Mice and Men and was aware that her goal of being an actor had come true. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980), in African American study, and an honorary doctorate (1983), from the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in the year 1980.
